Day 14

Pink Ladies, RedWhite&Blue, oil, 6 x 6

Apples kept coming up in the last day and then I went to Whole Foods and they were having a sale on my favorite type of apple: Pink Ladies (actually I pretty much won’t eat other apples).  It’s amazing how much one needs to know to paint a decent apple!  And how I’ve done paintings six times the size of this in seemingly less time.  Fruit seems to be the topic today for many daily painters…

Sip & paint? Oh, where they ply you with wine, and then tell you how step by step what to do? Well, any painting is better than no painting!

I love the fact this is such a small painting. Very nice, and the colors are so vibrant.

Got to say I am with Genae–I did not get the painting gene, so the Sip & Paint places make it fun for some of us…but realistically not fine art.

Each to their own niche, but I love that you are talented and serious.

Thanks, Joan, but it’s really not a gene–more like years of training and practice–the gene theory gets you out of both!

They look yummy! Gotta say that I’ve never tried the pink ladies- usually go for gala, but now I’ll have to try these.
PS- sometimes it’s the smallest things that are the hardest.

I love Pink Lady, an awesome apple! We get ours from France here in Sweden. Apart from those I love Swedish apples. Aroma , Ingrid Marie, Cox Orange mmm Unfortunately I’ve rarely had a very good apple in US. Huge, with bright colors, yes, but no real fragrant taste.

Love you interpretation and the bright blue! 🙂

This is my favorite of all the paintings you’ve blogged about this month, and I’m not just saying that because I live in apple growing country in upstate NY.

Sure, Alana…then why are you saying it? Where are you in upstate? I went to college in Ithaca…yes, Cornell.
