No internet connection today…so I listened to January (piano, bass, drums) by the Marcin Wasilewski Trio…and had a small taste of life before the WWW. I did this piece to practice for a demo I’m doing tomorrow. It has to be large enough for the audience to see what I’m doing…I’ll probably do a 16 x 16…I imagined myself speaking to the crowd…but no, not talking aloud…I’m not crazy after all…another reason you won’t catch me talking on a cell.
« Day 15
Nice painting. I generally have given up on trying to be silent during my practice lectures–I tell my wife that I entertaining the cats.
See, I have no cats.
Amazing things we can accomplish without distractions!
I like it. I like art that looks like things. 🙂
Well hopefully you’ve come to the right place.
I wish I had artsy artistic ability! That is a beautiful painting. My artistic side comes out in my poetry but I haven’t been able to write in awhile…and while I cannot draw or paint…I can write and I can dance! The only time I get frustrated is when I have a picture in my head and I cannot draw it on paper. I have half of an image in my head of my next tattoo but I can’t draw it out.
Thanks. I should find a way to market my drawing class online, huh?
Lovely. Roses are my favourite flower. Dropping by from UBC.
Carol,
Actually talking to yourself before a major speech is a good thing IMHO. I used to teach public speaking and practice that wasn’t done out loud didn’t seem to really count. Once you hear yourself and put your mouth around the words, the talk seem to come out much more naturally and a whole lot easier.
An Well, I’ll hush now
Thanks for the post
I agree with Hale; practicing out loud doesn’t make you crazy at all, but I do have to wonder about some people and their cell phone conversations! Love the colors in your painting.
I love looking at other people’s art work. Unfortunately, I’m no artist myself but my sister is! I love the detail ! x
Love the colors in your painting, Carol. It is beautiful. As for speaking during your demo, my opinion is that just acting natural is always the best approach!
