Hadn’t painted in over a week…I guess I just needed a break…and maybe I was starting (subconsciously) to feel down because of lack of sales and a show rejection that I hadn’t seen coming, etc., lack of response to the last piece I posted that I had actually spent more time on (and used brushes with). But I just hit a home run with sales as of yesterday…so it was time to dip back in the waters…and the water was fine.
I spied this set up from the other room–a counter top shelf in my kitchen area opening, with a medley of produce….and maybe I added something or other.
This was based on a request by a customer at one of my galleries who wanted the piece in a different format. I wouldn’t necessarily usually do this, but it seemed like a fun enough challenge. I used my other piece and the photo I took that day and I’m pleased with the result. Haven’t heard yet if it’s a sale, so for now, it’s still available.
I was contemplating creating another still life set up, but this accidental arrangement caught my eye so I went for round 3 of these players.
The interesting thing for me about this piece is that I came very close to wiping it off…not even sure why I didn’t. I forced myself to put it up on Instagram and it was instant love….so what do I know? It encouraged me to try another version today which I will post tomorrow.
