I just found out that out of 973 entries, my painting was one of only 50 chosen for the Yosemite Renaissance show….all the sweeter because several years ago, my work was rejected (…or at least not selected.) It shows the old saying about “if at first…” and I almost didn’t bother entering this time…glad I did bother!
This was supposed to be a group paint out in DTLA. Facebook said 24 people attended. 67 were interested. 4 actually showed up…and I was one of them. Painting downtown is not for the faint of heart. The parking alone is an adventure, and not a pleasant one. So I liked the light hitting the trees…but it left pretty quickly, then made a brief reappearance. I’ve been on a little bit of a break but hope to come back strong in January.
