I am going to attempt the 30 in 30 Challenge for something like the 6th time…but this time I may not be able to pull it off….and I’ll have to accept that. Since the car accident that I was in on Halloween night, I have had to endure a series of horrifying operations on my teeth and lack thereof….So I will do the best I can…because it’s not over yet. There are a lot of great challenges of all sorts starting on Jan 1 or 2 and I am tempted by many of them. Maybe my New Years resolution should be to stop doing challenges, or at least focus on one…Okay, maybe next year.
This is the Plaza Hotel as seen from Central Park. I liked the monochromatic ground setting off the blazing tree.
And Happier New Year, 2017, please, for all of us!
Interesting painting, Carol. I like your treatment of the reflections in the water, the feeling of standing on the bank and looking across to the city buildings while the fall colors of the tree impact us.
Have you ever heard Camus’ quote, “In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” No matter how many teeth you have to replace or whatever else this darn accident throws at you, your invincible summer will always shine through. Peace, love, good health this year!
Gosh, Laurelle, that is so beautiful. You’re going to make me cry.
Hey Carol,
I’ve seen your work the last couple of challenges and finally stopped by to say Hey! Love the poppy theme and your impasto brush work.
Hope that you feel better soon.
Cheers.
Joan.
Thanks for stopping by, Joan…and me too!
