Haven’t been to the farmers market in a while. These were a last minute $3 purchase that I’m glad I made.
The last of the bouquet…and I may try to squeeze one more painting out of it.
I had some dental work today so by the time I got home I wanted to try to complete today’s painting without pressure and chose an exercise I’d done years ago. It was with some satisfaction that I can look back and see a big improvement since then.
I was going to do a study or several of the sunflower but found it drooped out of the vase….so went with this instead.
Switched the flowers around, and voila, another set up.
So I’ve been trying to be less ambitious in an attempt to be more focused and get through the 30 days…but I couldn’t resist this weird autumnal bunch–with the cross between a sunflower and an artichoke flower?? Strange white green leaves to top off the challenge. Wonder if I’ll continue with this bouquet in some form tomorrow…
I’ve done this metal creamer a few times before several years ago–which makes it easy to see the improvement.
This is a real close up because the vase is really small.
I tried multiple arrangements for this, before coming up with this one. Why is this so much harder than it looks?
