I always like to give my opinion;) I am more “drawn” to the first painting in gouache for its moments of chartreuse light; the feeling of looseness and freshness because the lines seems less tight, the background seems more varied and interesting. Side note, lived in Pacific Palisades from age 3 to 7 on Toyopa…love Temescal Canyon
Good to know about the opinion! They have completely gutted Strathmore (the main downtown area)–putting up a mall that has yet to open. Yes, Temescal is nice and we don’t get there often enough.
I can’t decide!! I like them both for different reasons! The oil is so “rich” in texture and depth. The gauche is gorgeous and keeps your eye searching the piece, possibly because the depth of the colors vary so much.
This challenge is such a great time see where your ideas take you. I prefer the contrast and richness in this version. 🙂
Thank you, Sandra!

I like your most recent one because the house stands out more!
Thanks, Sharon!

Thanks for kind and detailed comment, Trish!
Both are great but my favorite is the one in gouache.
There is a freshness to the colors and a softness in the design..
Okay, I can see why you say that and thanks, Martine!
