Concerned that I may have to miss a day–not that I have yet, I did this right after I finished the one before. The paint was there…I had been given the little canvas pad…the light had completely changed and simplified all the shapes…et voila!
It’s a curious thing about watching a series of paintings unfold. The place has not changed. There’s the three palm trees, the large building, the various other homes and structures. It’s the same site but each painting is so very different. It’s like a diary of what you, as the artist, is sensing on that day, stressing certain areas more than others, adding more color to one area one day, different the next…capturing the different sense of skies. Makes me want to do this one day. It will be lovely to see this as a collection.
Laurelle! Love your very thoughtful comments! I have done some of these over the last 23 years that I’ve lived here. I do wish I’d been more “diary” oriented about it…but finally getting to it somewhat at least and at last. I do have to say that it does keep changing. For instance, that white building is just there since the past year. I watched them throw it up!

I love seeing the two different paintings. Both are fantastic.
Thank you, Kyla! It was an accident that they went up together–but I guess some good can come of accidents!!
