Vignette of Overland White Building

Posted on September 27, 2018 by Carol Steinberg

Vignette of Overland White Building, watercolor, 12 x 16

Running out of titles and energy…but I do like this series and glad I decided to stick it out.  This is a watercolor version of yesterday’s oil…and yes, different times of day, weather, etc.  Except that it’s really too hazy in the mornings…hurts my eyes.

Different medium, different view! I enjoy seeing your take-offs of views in different mediums! Open space feeling in this!

I agree with Carol’s comment. There’s a lovely feeling of space in this one by the lightness and colors of the sky. Your decision to leave the left corner white is interesting because even though it is unpainted it definitely feels like foliage is there!

Lovely and loose! I would make the mistake of trying to paint in the foreground details. Love how you handled the sky Carol. Even with the darker marks, it seems light and airy 🙂
