I was encouraged by the response to my last painting so did several more like it. I thought pears would be quick, but I was so wrong!
This was from a weekend paint out. We were corralled into a small area due to a wedding in progress…but I managed to paint this scene. Next time I will try a different format.
We spent a lot of our vacation in NC chasing sunsets….an admirable way to spend one’s time, I think…and why we don’t do it everyday….???

I just finished a 31 day drawing challenge….I think I got to 28. Today starts a 30 day painting challenge, a 30 day yoga “unchallenge,” and…September. This has been one of the stranger, more intense years of my life. I like to choose my challenges, but of course, life isn’t always like that. Lots of fun and adventure coming up, I hope. Come along with me for the ride!
This was the last painting from last Wednesday night at the beach. The sun had set and a group of us waited for the full moon to come up, but alas, it was not happening. A little boy had run up and run away during an earlier painting …”Everyone’s a critic” I thought…but then he came back later and declared “You are a good artist!”…which led me to think it was time to quit while I was ahead. It was late and cold…time to head home for a very late dinner.
