I had come down here a couple times to chat with a friend and it looked so beautiful that I wanted to paint it. We schlepped the equipment about a half mile (mostly B) and then I set up. It was a zoo of people. And not the same as in the morning…this was closer to sunset. The colors were not the same. During the week it’s much quieter too. Surprisingly, most people kept their distance. One woman did approach and asked how I could concentrate with all the people around. I told her it wasn’t a problem unless I was talking to someone. I had a teacher who told me to say how much the painting cost and that would send them fleeing…but I forgot to employ that trick.
This one was done with the Zorn palette.
From last Thursday. So much has changed since then. These roses have all moved on. But their beauty moved me while they were here. Look for my work on One King’s Lane in a week or so. Exciting!
This is from last Wednesday.
From Sunday. I love this white jug…a gift from a former instructor. Need to use it more often.
This was a last chance before the light was gone painting…others had lighting contraptions…but I was satisfied with the 2 paintings for the evening. I would love to try it again sometime soon.
