Later that day, on the beach.
A second attempt and more fog.
#3 in the series.
I attended the Los Gatos Plein Air Invitational a couple weeks ago. Getting back, settling in and getting the images ready to post has taken a while. The first day, I wound up going back to this park that I had painted in 2 years ago….just to see how things have changed. I’m pleased with my progress. The kids that passed by were all very encouraging. There were about 100 geese when I started, sort of surrounding my easel…and honking up a storm, but after I’d been painting a while, I looked up and there was nary a one in sight. They had just somehow slipped away while I’d been completely absorbed in the painting. I did 4 more paintings up there over the next 2-3 days and hope to post them soon.
I did this a couple weeks ago but I’ve been busy with drawings and grieving. Anyway, I reworked the one on the bottom and it became the one on the top.
Day 2 of the plein air workshop at Descanso from last week.
I painted this last week but as it is thundering and lightening here in LA today, I figured it was time to post!
This is a 3 color palette + white.
I was contemplating creating another still life set up, but this accidental arrangement caught my eye so I went for round 3 of these players.
This is a catch up painting–done from a photo….
