I painted this about a week ago–after a hiatus of not painting…and the longest, hardest winter in memory. So there are little signs of hope and Spring starting to appear and hence the title. Carnations are so nice…and the bouquet is still paint worthy…but unfortunately I have other pressing things. I will be painting at the beach the next couple of days, so that is even better.

This is a close up of yesterday’s bunch…I love the pink carnations and wish the light were not so fleeting…but maybe it forces me to simplify and get this loose impression. 20 days of paintings in a row…10 to go…my real concern is that jury duty starts next week…please let it be one day only! I don’t know if I can do more than one painting a day to “make up” for it…and it’s hard to see colors at night….I’m not up for getting up at 5 am either!
