From about a week ago: number 4 in the series. Is there some way you’d like to see me try this? So far I’ve done 3 small plein air, and now this larger one in studio. Not sure what I’m going to do next…
The third in this series–this is from a week and a half ago. The next one is indoors.
This is the second of the series I’m working on with these white hydrangea.
This is the first in a series. I’ve already done 2 more…and hope to do many more…but we’ll see. May try it indoors as well.
This is a second version of the painting before. Which do you prefer? I made the flowers closer to the color they actually were in this one.
I liked the paper wrapping of the plant so I repeated the contrast with the tomato and its plate.
This was an experiment on more than one level. For one thing, I usually use a board that has canvas and texture but this was a smooth board. I also got close up for more of a “study” than a “painting.” I wanted to get a little more intimate with the white hydrangea and use a little more drawing and detail to understand it better. Can you tell that this is different than what I usually do or not?
This little plant called to me at the market. I hope I can try it again under different lighting conditions.
