Come To Bed

Posted on September 28, 2017 by Carol Steinberg

Come To Bed, oil, 6 x 6

Don’t ask how I came up with this title.  Anyway, it was a fun exercise.  I wish I’d done more of these when I was younger.  Does that make any sense?

Creamer, Fig, Blackberries

Creamer, Fig, Blackberries, oil, 6 x 6

The idea for this came to me as I was going to sleep last night.  I guess that’s what painting everyday without stopping will do to you.

Tailgate

Tailgate, oil, 6 x 6

After yesterday, I really wanted to try a pear again. Chased by an apple.

Pear with Leaves

Pear with Leaves, oil, 7 x 5

I ran out of time and energy today, so it was back to basics.  It’s really interesting to compare this to ones I did in previous challenges.

Lemon Study

Posted on September 18, 2017 by Carol Steinberg

Lemon Study, oil, 8 x 10

I had some dental work today so by the time I got home I wanted to try to complete today’s painting without pressure and chose an exercise I’d done years ago.  It was with some satisfaction that I can look back and see a big improvement since then.

Metal Creamer, Tomatoes

Metal Creamer, Tomatoes, oil, 6 x 6

I’ve done this metal creamer a few times before several years ago–which makes it easy to see the improvement.

4 Tomatoes, Blue Vase

4 Tomatoes, Blue Vase, oil, 6 x 6

This is a real close up because the vase is really small.

Four Tomatoes, Low Bowl

Four Tomatoes, Low Bowl, oil, 6 x 6

I tried multiple arrangements for this, before coming up with this one.  Why is this so much harder than it looks?

Red Grapes, Square Vase, Blue Gray Ground

Posted on September 10, 2017 by Carol Steinberg

Red Grapes, Square Vase, Blue Gray Ground, oil, 8 x 8

I’m kinda digging the grapes so I bought some new ones because they were shriveling up.  I also liked painting the square little vase and decided to try to fit the whole thing in this time so I enlarged my work surface.  Also changed the background to a lighter color.
