I just found out that I was chosen as one of twelve Featured Artists this month on DPW…out of 191 entries (this was not the winning entry….it was a painting of Snapdragons that I got somewhat Joan Mitchell with)….which means my work will appear at the top of the page every day on their site. That means that I really need to paint every day for the next month too…in order to best take advantage of it. It’s a good thing I took this week off! Tomorrow I’m taking an ocean painting workshop for 3 days…so that will be what I will be posting…and after that, we’ll see. Meanwhile, I’m posting this ocean painting that was done a while back…and we’ll see if there’s a noticeable change over the next few postings. This piece was actually commissioned by my beloved yoga instructor, Jerome Mercier. He asked me to paint out at Leo Carillo State Beach. It is a beach for windsurfing, surfing and dog owners. It’s actually kind of far from here…on the weekend with the traffic on PCH it could take a couple hours just to get there. My first excursion I got all set up, only to realize I had forgotten my brushes! The next time I managed to pull this off. It was actually cold and very windy. This workshop we will be going to the same location on the third day. This time I will have my brushes.
